In 2007, St. Albert City Council saw the need for an autonomous agency to help deal with the community’s need for affordable housing and mandated the creation of the St. Albert Housing Society.
The Society’s mission is to improve St. Albert’s ability to provide affordable living for its residents through leadership, land acquisition, pursuit of funding, education, advocacy and housing development.
Since the transition from a board advising City Council to an incorporated Society, there has been significant progress toward meeting the goals of the Society. The City generously continues to provide support for the Society.
